Liverpool consider big-money move for PSG star

Liverpool eye big-money move for PSG star

Liverpool are reportedly considering a major move for Warren Zaire-Emery this summer.

According to El Nacional, the Reds are prepared to go big to land the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder. The 20-year-old has long been admired at Anfield.

The interest is far from new. Liverpool’s recruitment staff have tracked the France international for well over a year.

Reports this week suggest they have enquired again, with the player among those they rate most highly in Europe.

Liverpool weigh bold move for PSG’s Zaire-Emery

His situation may finally be shifting. Zaire-Emery is said to be weighing his future amid concerns over regular game time.

Strong competition from Vitinha, Joao Neves and others has, at times, pushed him down the PSG pecking order.

That backdrop gives Liverpool encouragement. The midfielder is reportedly open to a fresh challenge if the right move arises.

A switch to the Premier League could appeal to a player keen to nail down a settled role.

The numbers, though, will be daunting. PSG value him highly, with recent estimates around €80m.

El Nacional suggests Liverpool would pay above his valuation, and that an offer near that figure could force PSG to at least listen.

There is a major obstacle, however. The French champions remain reluctant to sell one of their brightest academy graduates.

Zaire-Emery is contracted until 2029, which strengthens their hand considerably in any talks.

The profile certainly fits Liverpool’s needs. He is versatile across midfield, comfortable in possession, and has even filled in at right-back.

At 20, he also offers long-term value, with his age easing any squad-registration concerns.

New boss Andoni Iraola is reshaping his side after a difficult campaign. Midfield is one area under review, with question marks hanging over several current options.

A talent of Zaire-Emery’s ceiling would represent a statement of intent.

For now, this remains firmly at the interest stage. PSG hold the cards, the fee is steep, and no formal bid has emerged.

Even so, the longstanding admiration suggests Liverpool will keep pushing.
