Julian Nagelsmann is interested in taking the Manchester United job, if approached after this summer’s World Cup.
The Germany manager is one of the names under consideration for the role, as United assess permanent successors to Ruben Amorim.
Though still just 38 years old, Nagelsmann has a wealth of experience having led Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich and the Germany national team.
He won the Bundesliga with Bayern in 2021-22 and will now look to secure World Cup success at this summer’s tournament. His deal with Germany expires at the end of the tournament, when Nagelsmann will consider a return to club football.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Nagelsmann has expressed interest in taking over at Old Trafford and is ‘firmly in the frame’.
Michael Carrick is in caretaker charge at present and an impressive record has catapulted the interim manager into contention.
Carrick has won six of his seven Premier League games, drawing the other, to lift the side into the Champions League places.
INEOS are reportedly ‘not yet ready’ to hand him the permanent position as the club do ‘due diligence’ on multiple managerial options.
