Guardiola hails Arsenal 'Best in England' before title Clash

Pep Guardiola praised Arsenal as the best team in England following City’s 3-0 win at Chelsea, which took them firmly back in the title clash with the Gunners.

Manchester City secured a vital 3-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. Goals from Nico O’Reilly, Marc Guéhi, and Jeremy Doku sealed the points after a goalless first half.

This victory moves City within six points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a game in hand. Arsenal suffered a defeat on Saturday, handing Pep Guardiola’s side a major chance to close the gap.

Guardiola immediately turned his focus toward the Gunners during his post-match media duties. “We’ve done a good three games but the best team in England is Arsenal,” the City boss said.

He insisted that the numbers are there to support the North London side’s league position. Guardiola joked about his half-time tactical changes against helsea, saying, “I’m a genius!” to the reporters.

Pep Guardiola labels Arsenal the best in England ahead of crucial Etihad clash

The Manchester club defeated Arsenal at Wembley to lift the Carabao Cup in March. Furthermore, they enter this fixture after a dominant 4-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over reigning Premier League champions Liverpool.

Guardiola believes these results provide his squad with the necessary confidence. However, he remains wary of the challenge posed by the North London side.

They also recently thrashed the reigning Premier League champions, Liverpool, 4-0 in the FA Cup. Guardiola noted that “winning against the best team so far helps” his squad maintain high standards.

He acknowledged that maintaining success over nine years is a result of the entire club structure. “Winning a lot in modern times is so complicated. We have a chance to prove ourselves again next week.”

City must now grow as a team to overcome Mikel Arteta’s resilient outfit. The manager expects a very tough encounter when the title rivals meet at the Etihad Stadium.

He believes winning helps build the momentum needed for the final weeks of the campaign. All eyes now turn to the Sunday afternoon kick-off in Manchester.
