Erling Haaland injury update issued following halftime sub
Erling Haaland is “not 100 per cent” after coming off at halftime of Manchester City’s win over Fulham on Wednesday with an injury scare.
The striker scored City’s third goal in a 3-0 win just before the break, but did not emerge for the second half and was instead replaced by Omar Marmoush.
Pep Guardiola revealed afterwards that the Norway international had “some problems” and felt “uncomfortable”, which he boiled down to “just fatigue or something”.

Speaking ahead of City’s FA Cup fourth round meeting with Salford City, Guardiola provided an update on Haaland’s status. He confirmed that while the 25-year-old is a doubt to play this weekend, it is “not a big issue”.
“Erling is not 100 per cent,” the Catalan coach said in his pre-match press conference. “We will see today how he feels. It is not a big issue the doctor said to me but he had some disturbance during the game and that’s why he didn’t play in the second half.
“We will see today [if he will be involved tomorrow].”
John Stones could also feature against Salford ater returning to the matchday squad in midweek. The defender has been sidelined by a thigh injury he sustained in the 5-4 win over Fulham on 2nd December.
“Fortunately, it is a long two months,” Guardiola said. “The last game he played was against Leeds away. He has already made two or three training sessions and we will see tomorrow if he plays or how many minutes he plays.”
Guardiola also admitted that his squad are “so, so exhausted physically and mentally” due to the congested schedule.
“Our priority is beating Salford and going to the next round,” he responded when asked if reaching another FA Cup final is a priority for City. “In this competition over the last years reaching finals, finals and finals. Unfortunately we could not win the last two finals but being there is always a success. I always think about that.
“Hopefully, before this long week that we need, because we are so, so exhausted physically and mentally from this incredible amount of games in many months – we can have a little break after the game tomorrow.”
