“Spain is always Spain,” he said. “It is where I grew up and you always think about going back.
“But I would [prefer to] leave it for a few years down the line. I am very happy here and it is a great life experience.”
Cucurella added that he would consider returning to former club Barcelona if the opportunity arose. “It is clear if that situation did arise, it is hard to turn down, but I would have to consider it in the end.”
Chelsea vice-captain Enzo Fernandez was dropped from the squad for the next two games on Friday after saying he would like to live in Madrid amid reports linking him with a move to Real Madrid.

Blues boss Liam Rosenior confirmed, however, that Cucurella will not be sanctioned and will be play a part in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final clash with Port Vale.
“That’s a separate case,” he said. “Marc is available and will be involved tomorrow.
“Everybody knows Marc’s character. He is passionate and he wants to do well. It was a long interview. He spoke his mind. When I was with him yesterday, I reminded him he can be honest with me. That takes time. To build those relationships, it takes time.
“Marc is fully committed. He wants to be here. He has made that very, very clear to me and he believes in where we are going.”
Rosenior added that Cucurella should have spoken to him or the sporting directors at Chelsea first before going public with his criticisms of the club’s strategy. He told The Athletic that a lack of experience in the team cost them against PSG in the Champions League defeat and that Enzo Maresca should not have been sacked.
“I had a fantastic conversation with Marc yesterday, half an hour in my office,” Rosenior said. “I’ve been here for less than three months and I’m enjoying it; even the difficult moments.
“I’ve told the players from day one that if they have any issues on how we do things, speak to me or the sporting directors.
“My disappointment in Marc’s interview was where it went to. I think he should’ve spoken to us first about how he was feeling. I want players to know they can speak openly and honestly for the benefit of the football club. As a football club, we know we need to improve.
“We know what we’re going to do in the summer to achieve those objectives.”
