Chelsea see £64m bid for Alex Scott rejected by Bournemouth
Chelsea have had an offer of £64m rejected for Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott.
Bournemouth have informed Chelsea of their decision to turn down the offer and have suggested all further approaches will be rejected.
The Cherries are determined to keep Scott, despite the midfielder’s decision to turn down a new contract. Scott has two years left on the contract he signed when joining the club in 2023.
Chelsea are not the 22-year-old’s only suitors, with Arsenal making enquiries earlier in the summer. Tottenham Hotspur, the club Scott supported as a child, Manchester United and Manchester City have also registered interest, according to the BBC.
Bournemouth had hoped that a new deal could persuade Scott to stay on the south coast, with the Cherries open to including a release clause. Dean Huijsen and Antoine Semenyo are among the Bournemouth players who signed similar deals before moving on.
Scott scored four times in 39 appearances last season and was nominated for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award.
