Lagos celebrates 17 years of KingModel

…as King Daniel unveils ‘Paradise Night Dance’ ahead of 18th anniversary

By Benjamin Njoku

KingModel, the entertainment and talent development brand founded by creative entrepreneur King Daniel, has celebrated 17 years of promoting creativity, fashion, entertainment and youth empowerment in Nigeria.

The 17th edition of the KingModel show, held recently in Osapa, Lekki, Lagos State, drew participants, entertainers and guests from across Nigeria, the diaspora and beyond, underscoring the platform’s growing influence in entertainment and fashion.

The event also marked another milestone for Dreams Models International, the organisation King Daniel established on December 13, 2008, in Victoria Island, Lagos, to discover, mentor and showcase young talent.

Speaking at the event, King Daniel reflected on the brand’s journey, noting that what began as a modest initiative has grown into one of Nigeria’s most respected entertainment and modelling platforms.

“The vision behind KingModel has always been to create opportunities for young people and help them build careers in entertainment and fashion,” he said.

“For over 17 years, we have remained committed to inspiring young people, creating opportunities and putting smiles on the faces of countless individuals through innovative entertainment and talent development programmes,” he added.

He noted that several models and entertainers trained under Dreams Models International have gone on to build successful careers both in Nigeria and abroad.

Beyond modelling, King Daniel has expanded into filmmaking and storytelling. He is the producer of the movie series “Agatha of Jezebel” which has enjoyed years of production and strong audience patronage.

Over the years, KingModel has organized notable youth-focused events including “Revolution Talk Show”, “Lekki Carnival”, “Supermodels Story” and “Lekki December”, all designed to give emerging talents a platform to showcase their creativity.

Organizers said the brand’s consistency has earned it multiple recognitions and awards in fashion, humanitarian service and media excellence from institutions including Global Affairs Magazine.

King Daniel also used the occasion to unveil plans for “Paradise Night Dance”, a major entertainment event slated for December 2026 to mark the 18th anniversary of the KingModel annual show. He described it as an event that will further celebrate creativity, entertainment and youth development during the festive season.
