‘King Mitchy was never our patient’, Abuja hospital denies death report

By Emmanuel Okogba

Prime Care Hospitals has firmly denied social media reports alleging that popular content creator Mukoro Mitchelle, known as King Mitchy, died at its Abuja facility after allegedly ingesting a harmful substance.

In an official statement posted on its Instagram page on Saturday morning, the hospital management described the claims as “FALSE” and clarified that King Mitchy was never admitted to the facility, nor did she pass away there.

“The management of Prime Care Hospitals wishes to inform the public that the announcement of the alleged death of Miss Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, at our facility in Abuja is FALSE. King Mitchy was never a patient in our hospital and did not pass away here,” the statement read.

The hospital added that it is actively addressing the spread of the misinformation. “We are working with authorities to investigate the source of this misinformation and will take all necessary legal actions against those responsible. Please verify information through our official channels before sharing,” it stated.

The controversy began when a post on King Mitchy’s official Instagram account, reportedly from her management, announced her passing. The post included a claim that she consumed bleach during a TikTok live stream and was rushed to Prime Care Hospital in Abuja, where efforts to save her failed.

“We are deeply heartbroken to share that our beloved Michelle has passed on. Despite all efforts from the medical team here in Abuja, we were told her condition was critical, and sadly, she could not be revived. Rest in peace, Michelle. You will never be forgotten,” the post read.

It further appealed: “If you know prime hospital in abuja help us beg them to do something to save her. Her mother has fainted in Lagos already and has been taken to a hospital.”

The conflicting accounts have left fans and followers confused. As of the latest reports, King Mitchy’s death has not been independently verified by family members, relevant authorities, or credible sources.

The genesis of the meltdown was Mitchy calling out activist, VeryDarkMan after she purportedly renovated a school in Delta State within six (6) days. In the callout, she urged the activist to be open and straightforward with the activities of his NGO. This didn’t go down well with VeryDarkMan and it quickly degenerated into other allegations and name calling.
