Nigerian singer, Inetimi Alfred Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has clarified that he has not yet retired.
The ‘Dem Mama’ crooner explained that his current break from music wasn’t a retirement, but a nap.

On his X handle, the singer wrote, “No be say the boy retire, the boy just been dey sleep….”

Timaya began his solo career in 2005 with the release of his debut single, ‘Dem Mama’, which recounted the Odi massacre in his home state of Bayelsa.
His debut album, ‘True Story’, which was released the following year, solidified his stardom.

In total, Timaya has released eight albums, one EP, and several singles, in 20 years of his career.

He has collaborated with international artists like Sean Paul and Morgan Heritage.
