Nollywood actress, Eniola Ajao, has confirmed the arrest and prosecution of a blogger who circulated her video from the burial ceremony of actor Odunlade Adekola’s father.
DAILY POST recalls that the actress was heavily criticised in August after a video from the burial in Otun Ekiti showed her hiding and acting funny after exchanging pleasantries with Odunlade’s wife.
Analyzing the video, netizens claimed that her behaviour reflected guilt, with critics accusing her of having a romantic affair with the actor.
Denying the viral speculation, the actress in a post on Instagram, described the allegation as a plot to tarnish her personality.
However in a new development on Wednesday, the actress in an Instagram post announced that the blogger who posted the video, Adabasioni Oluwafemi Aseoro, has been charged and jailed for defamation and cyberbullying.
She further accused Adabasioni of manipulating the video to create a false narrative online.
“I can confirm the arrest and prosecution of a blogger, Adabasioni Oluwafemi Aseoro, for criminal defamation and cyberbullying under the Nigerian Cyber Crime Acts. The blogger went to make derogatory and unfounded claims against my person online, following my appearance at the burial of the father of my BOSS, Ambassador Odunlade Adekola.
“Adabasioni took videos of me, which was made by another party blogger with malicious intentions. He manipulated the video to suit his narrative online and achieve his trolling goal, I became subject of ridicule, and no one questioned the highly manipulated video. And I chose to respond for once by taking legal actions.
“He was detained for two weeks at Ikoyi Prison. He assassinated my character, and he paid for it in full!”.
Eniola Ajao further shared video of Adabasioni apologizing to her and also begging other bloggers to pull down the video.
