The former manager of the defunct music group, P-Square, Jude Okoye, has been released from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, after two months in detention. DAILY POST reports that Jude Okoye was arraigned by the anti-graft agency alongside his company, Northside Music Limited, on seven counts of charges related to money laundering.
Paul Okoye, popularly called Rudeboy of Psquare, announced their elder brother Jude’s release on Wednesday.
Sharing a series of videos of him and others welcoming Jude home via his Instagram story, Paul wrote, “Jude is finally out after 2months + .. all their efforts to frustrate his bail has finally collapsed. Welcome home brother #judeengees. And happy birthday. Welcome back blood.”
Recall that Rudeboy has accused his twin brother and former band-mate, Peter Okoye, commonly known as Mr P of P-Square, as being behind Jude’s legal troubles and detention.
Last week, Peter testified against Jude in the Federal High Court in Lagos. He explained how Jude secretly registered a new company in his wife’s name and used it to divert royalties that rightfully belonged to P-Square.
The court adjourned the case to June 4 for cross-examination.
