Real Madrid winger reportedly eyeing PSG transfer
Vinicius Junior is reportedly open to the idea of leaving Real Madrid, with Paris Saint-Germain an option the winger would consider.
The Brazil international was involved in an angry exchange with head coach Xabi Alonso during the club’s 2-1 win over Barcelona at the weekend. After being substituted, Vinicius questioned the decision and threatened to leave the Spanish side.
As he left the pitch, he said: “Me? Always me. I’m leaving the team, it’s better if I leave, I’m leaving.”
The winger then went straight down the tunnel without acknowledging Alonso. He later returned and was involved in clashes with Barcelona players at full-time. Vinicius issued an apology, though notably did not include Alonso.
“Today I want to apologise to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was substituted in the Clasico,” the statement read.
“Just as I have already done in person during today’s training, I also want to apologise again to my team-mates, the club, and the president.
“Sometimes passion gets the better of me because I always want to win and help my team. My competitive character stems from the love I feel for this club and everything it represents.
“I promise to keep fighting every second for the good of Real Madrid, as I have done since the first day.”
Spanish outlet Sport are reporting that Vinicius is considering his options, and would be keen on a move to PSG. His contract is due to expire in 2027, which could force Real Madrid’s hand in the summer window. This season, the winger five goals and four assists in 10 La Liga appearances.
