WAFCON 2024: Victory over Ghana perfect morale booster for Super Falcons – Abiodun
Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has reflected on the team’s victory over the Black Queens of Ghana, DAILY POST reports.
Nigeria defeated their eternal rivals 3-1 in a pre-2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations friendly on Sunday night.
Justine Madugu’s side scored twice in the first half through Chiwendu Ihezuo and Asisat Oshoala.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade added the third five minutes after the break, while Alice Kusi reduced the deficit for Ghana two minutes from time.
The Super Falcons are now unbeaten in their last three games.
Abiodun stated that the encounter was a true test for the team ahead of the WAFCON.
“It was a good training match, especially against a team like Ghana, who bring the physicality, and I think it’s very good for the team,” she told NFF TV.
The Super Falcons will keep a date with Tunisia in their opening Group B tie at the WAFCON 2024 finals on Sunday.
