WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons set to open camp in Portugal
The Super Falcons of Nigeria will open camp in Portugal this week as they step up preparations for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, DAILY POST reports.
Justine Madugu’s side will also take on Portugal in a friendly on Monday, 23 June.
The highly anticipated encounter will serve as part of the team’s preparation for the WAFCON 2024 finals.
The Super Falcons defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-0 in a friendly at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena, Abeokuta two weeks ago.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade scored both goals for Nigeria.
DAILY POST learnt head coach Madugu has already submitted his squad list for the trip to Portugal to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF.
The list is expected to be made public this week.
The nine-time champions will fly directly to Morocco from Portugal for the competition.
Nigeria’s opening game against Tunisia will hold at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on Sunday, 6 July.
Botswana and Algeria are the other countries in the group.
