WAFCON 2024: Super Falcons express interest to reclaim title – Demehin
Super Falcons defender, Oluwatosin Demehin says the team want to reclaim the title at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Justine Madugu’s side had a disappointing outing in the last edition of the competition where they finished in fourth position.
They head into the competition in a buoyant mood having recorded two wins, and a draw from their last three games.
Demehin made her maiden appearance at the WAFCON three years ago in Morocco.
The centre-back said they want to dethrone holders South Africa this time around.
“My expectation is for us to redeem our lost glory,” she told the Super Falcons media.
“We want to become champions again, and take the trophy back to Nigeria for the 10th time.”
The Super Falcons will open their campaign against Tunisia in Casablanca on Sunday (today).
