The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has named Super Falcons’ Deborah Abiodun among the five rising stars to watch at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
The tireless midfielder was named in Nigeria’s squad for the biennial competition by head coach Justine Madugu two weeks ago.
Abiodun will be making her maiden WAFCON appearance in Morocco.
The 21-year-old hit the headlines following her impressive performance for the nine-time African champions at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
The former Rivers Angels star is expected to play a crucial role for the Super Falcons side that will be chasing their 10th title in Morocco.
Abiodun has made seven appearances for the Super Falcons.
Other players listed are Tunisia’s Salma Marzouki, Ruth Bulala Nossa of Democratic Republic of Congo, Tunisia’s Salma Marzouki, and Comfort Yeboah of Ghana.
