Rasheedat Ajibade claimed the Woman of the Match award following Nigeria’s victory over hard-fighting Botswana at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Thursday night.

Justine Madugu’s side edged the keenly contested encounter 1-0 with substitute Chiwendu Ihezuo netting the winning goal late in the game.

Ihezuo was teed by a superb cross from her fellow substitute Esther Okoronkwo.

Ajibade, who started the game on the right side of Nigeria’s attack was deployed to the midfield after the break.

The 25-year-old put up a strong display, and was in action for the entire duration of the game.

DAILY POST recalls, Okoronkwo won the award in Nigeria’s first game against Algeria.

The Super Falcons will face Algeria in their next game at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium, Casablanca on Sunday.
