Nigeria midfielder Raphael Onyedika was back in training with Club Brugge on Monday morning ahead of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 encounter against Aston Villa.

Onyedika sustained an injury during Club Brugge’s 2-1 defeat to Standard Liège last month.

The 23-year-old missed the Belgian Pro League champions’ trip to KAA Gent last Saturday.

According to HLN, the defensive midfielder is expected to be included in the matchday squad against Aston Villa after training with his teammates.

Nicky Hayen’s side will host the first leg at the Jan Breydel Stadion on Tuesday.

Onyedika has scored once in the Champions League this season.

He has been booked twice in the competition this campaign, and another yellow card will see him miss the reverse fixture at Villa Park next week.
