UCL: Anything can happen at Bernabeu – Ancelotti warns after Real Madrid beat Man City

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has said “anything can happen at the Bernabeu” ahead of the second leg of their Champions League play-off against Manchester City.

The LaLiga champions came from behind twice to win 3-2 at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

Erling Haaland’s opener was cancelled out by Kylian Mbappe.

But Haaland gave City the lead again from the spot, before late goals from Brahim Diaz and Jude Bellingham won it for Madrid.

“We didn’t deserve to be 1-2 down,” Ancelotti told reporters.

“We were really dangerous and defended really well. At the end of the day the victory is deserved.

“We have to stay calm. It’s only the first half. Anything can happen at the Bernabeu.”

On Manchester City, Ancelotti added: “They are a really good team and they played a really good game in my opinion.

“I think it was a penalty [Foden fouled]. The referee is one of the best in Europe.”
