Transfer: ‘Very smart move’ – Ex-Chelsea star, Tore Flo hails Enzo Maresca’s side for surprise target
Former Chelsea striker, Tore Andre Flo, has hailed the club for making the move to sign AC Milan goalkeeper, Mike Maignan.
He described it as a very smart move, adding that the Frenchman will improve the Blues squad as he is better than the current number one, Robert Sanchez.
The former Chelsea striker told Metro that getting the France international should be done this summer.
“It sounds like a good signing to me. A club like Chelsea would improve the squad straight away if there was any doubt [over Robert Sanchez]. To me it sounds very, very smart,” he said.
Reports in west London on Tuesday suggest that the Blues have ended their interest in the French number one.
The Blues wanted to have the goalkeeper for the FIFA Club World Cup which begins on Sunday, but did now meet the €30 million asking price set by AC Milan.
Chelsea were only able to offer €21 million, as per reports.
