Transfer: Nico Williams to reduce salary, join Barcelona

Athletic Bilbao winger, Nico Williams is ready to lower his salary demands to join Barcelona this summer transfer window.

According to football transfer expert, Ben Jacobs, Barcelona chief Deco has held a meeting with Williams’ agent in a bid to secure the signing signature.

Deco informed Williams’ agent that the Blaugrana will agree to a €12m-gross number discussed with the Spain international 12 months ago.

Meanwhile, Barcelona will have to battle the likes of Bayern Munich and Arsenal who are also interested in signing the 22-year-old player.

Athletic Bilbao have started new contract talks in a bid to keep their top player at the club beyond this summer transfer window.

Williams joined Athletic Bilbao from Basconia five years ago.

He has been impressive for the Spanish LaLiga club so far.
