The CEO of Al Hilal, Esteve Calzada, has claimed that it would have been “a very unusual situation” to lure Cristiano Ronaldo from Al Nassr striker.

In an interview with Diario AS, Calzada stated that Ronaldo is the captain of their “eternal rival”.

He likened the rivalry between the two teams to the one that exists between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in LaLiga.

Ahead of the Club World Cup, Al Hilal were linked with a shock move for Ronaldo.

“At the end of the day, Al Nassr is like Atlético and Al Hilal is like Madrid.

“It would be a very unusual situation to strengthen your team with a player from your eternal rival,” Calzada said.

Ronaldo’s current contract with Al Nassr will expire at the end of June.
