Transfer: Chelsea take decision on replacing Levi Colwill as Sevilla reject offer for Juanlu

Chelsea said they will not be returning to the transfer market in search of Levi Colwill’s replacement.

The Blues, according to Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer expert, have not activated any immediate ‘emergency plan’ to sign a new centre back.

Chelsea have full trust in the rest of the players and also with their latest signing, Jorrel Hato able to play at centre back or left-back.

Chelsea confirmed on Thursday that Colwill will miss most of the 2025/26 season after he sustained an ACL injury.

The England defender has undergone surgery after the scans confirmed the situation.

The 22-year-old was injured after he returned for pre-season at the start of this week, sustaining the injury in training.

Meanwhile LaLiga side, Sevilla have turned down €17m formal proposal from Napoli for Juanlu.

Romano reports that the Spanish club is asking for €20m plus sell-on clause.
