Transfer: Barcelona not club for friends – Deco warns Yamal over move for Nico Williams
Barcelona sporting director, Deco, has warned that they are not a “club for friends”.
Deco was speaking about a possible move for Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams.
Williams is believed to have agreed a six-year deal with Barca already and is now waiting for the negotiations between both LaLiga teams.
According to Deco, the 22-year-old’s name was already on their list last summer.
He however said the friendship between Williams and Lamine Yamal is only a bonus.
“Nico’s name was already on the table last season, the idea of signing him has always been there.
“Their friendship is a nice bonus, of course.
“But this isn’t a club for friends — we’re here to work and to win.”
