Arsenal are looking to strike a deal to sign Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen, according to Sky Sports.

Although the Gunners are focusing on departures, they are working to be in a position to act on the left-sided centre-back.

Hincapie has four years left on his Leverkusen deal and they would like to keep him

But the defender has decided he wants to leave and he has a £52m (€60m) release clause in his contract.

Arsenal’s move for Hincapie, could depend on their ability to offload Jakub Kiwior.

Kiwior is in talks with FC Porto over a move, but the negotiations are not progressing as quickly as expected.
