Arsenal star, Martin Zubimendi has singled out two of his teammates for special praise following their pre-season Emirates Cup friendly 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

Zubimendi described Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard as the best in their positions, hailing them as top footballers.

The Spanish midfielder spoke to Arsenal’s media team after the Athletic Bilbao game at the Emirates Stadium.

Zubimendi said: “It was very easy – the team made it very easy for me. I think the people on and off the pitch are very friendly.

“[Declan and Odegaard] are top players, the best in their position. It is time to learn, adapt and enjoy it above all.”

Zubimendi joined Arsenal from Real Socieded this summer and will hope to lead Mikel Arteta’s to victory when they face Manchester United in their Premier League opener next weekend.
