They can’t replace him – Tim Sherwood names Chelsea player who has been disrespected

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager, Tim Sherwood believes Chelsea striker, Nicolas Jackson’s quality has been ‘disrespected’.

This is coming after Chelsea’s Premier League 1-0 defeat to Arsenal over the weekend.

The Blues has continue to struggle in Jackson’s absence.

Jackson has missed the last eight matches for Chelsea since he sustained injury in February.

The Senegal international has scored nine league goals prior to picking up a thigh injury last month.

Jackson was often criticised for his lack of a clinical edge, with Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher suggesting he was ‘not at the level’ required for a Chelsea striker.

However, Sherwood believes Chelsea can’t replace Jackson because he is a threat to opponent.

“I think Nicolas Jackson has definitely been disrespected,” Sherwood told Metro.

“I think he is the focal point and a real presence up there.

“He occupies the centre-halves and takes them back to create space for the likes of Cole Palmer to come into.

“Palmer, in particular, profited off the space that Jackson created him. Enzo [Fernandez] as well.”

He added, “He’s been a huge miss. He’s not a prolific goalscorer but he is certainly a threat and they can’t replace him.”
