Super Cup: They changed referee, tried everything – Toney takes shot at Ronaldo’s led-Al-Nassr

Ivan Toney, Al-Ahli attacker, has taken a dig at Cristiano Ronaldo’s led-Al-Nassr after his side’s Saudi Super Cup triumph at the Hong Kong Stadium on Saturday.

Toney featured as Al-Ahli defeated Al-Nassr 5-3 on penalty shoot-out after the encounter ended in a 2-2 draw.

However, the build-up to the game was was filled with controversy as Toney also accused the Saudi league authorities of mistreating Al-Ahli.

Speaking after the match, Toney said via Al Nassr Zone: “It shows the heart we have you know, we stick together and this is what happens.

“They tried everything, change the referee but it did not matter.”

The likes of Ronaldo, Franck Kessie, Marcelo Brozovic and Roger Ibañez all scored during the match.
