Spain to play England in Women’s Euros final
Aitana Bonmati scored deep into extra time to help Spain defeat Germany 1-0 in the Women’s Euros final on Wednesday night.
With a few minutes left to a penalty shoot-out, Bonmati’s cross-shot crept into the net.
The game had finished goalless after 90 minutes, before the decisive goal came in the 23rd minute of extra time.
Spain will now take on England Sunday’s final, in what will be a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final.
The Three Lionesses will be looking to defend the trophy they won at the last Euros.
Although Spain are the current World Cup champions, they will be playing in a Euros final for the first time.
When the two sides played each other in the 2023 World Cup final, Spain beat England 1-0 in Sydney, Australia.
