Udinese goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, could be banned for four years for alleged sporting fraud.

Okoye has been deferred to the disciplinary commission by Italian authorities for sporting fraud rather than just irregular betting.

The 25-year-old was accused of deliberately receiving a yellow card in the 64th minute of Udinese’s Serie A clash with Lazio.

He was booked for time- wasting late in the game with Udinese leading 2-1.

The match was played at the Dacia Arena on March 11, 2024

Okoye was placed under investigation along with three friends.

The Nigeria international joined Udinese from Watford in the summer of 2023.
