Serie A: Napoli pip Inter Milan to title
Napoli defeated Cagliari 2-0 on Friday night to be crowned Serie A champions.
It is their second title in three seasons, as Antonio Conte’s men edged Inter Milan in a dramatic finale to the campaign.
Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku scored for the hosts to secure the decisive win.
It is the fourth Italian championship for Napoli.
For Conte, he becomes the first coach to win Serie A with three clubs, after achieving the feat with Inter Milan and Juventus.
Conte, speaking after the match, said it was “the most unexpected, the most difficult, and the most stimulating in terms of the challenge.”
Napoli led defending champions Inter by one point ahead of the final round of fixtures and both teams ended up winning 2-0, with the Nerrazzurri seeing off 10-man Como.
