Russia vs Nigeria: Why Ndidi, three other Super Eagles players left camp – Chelle
Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle has explained why the likes of Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Felix Agu and Ahmed Musa left the camp ahead of Nigeria’s international friendly tie with Russia.
Chelle’s side will clash with Russia at the Luzhniki Stadium this Friday .
The aforementioned players were initially included in the 21-man squad to tackle Russia.
However, they have left the Super Eagles camp ahead of the Russia game.
Discussing with United Kingdom-based Nigerian journalist, Austin Okon Akpan, Chelle disclosed the reasons why the players left the camp ahead of the Russia encounter.
“You saw Ahmed Musa left the camp [for his wedding]. [Wilfried] Ndidi left because he had a little injury at the end of the game [against Jamaica],” Chelle said.
“[Kelechi] Iheanacho, too has a big problem in his family so he needs to leave the Super Eagles camp.
“Felix Agu left because of his visa. He can’t go to Russia. So we have to work on other players who can substitute them.”
