Sunshine Stars assistant coach, Bobola Akinfolarin, has declared that the team must fight hard to survive relegation this season.

The Owena Waves suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss to Abia Warriors at the Umuahia Township Stadium on Sunday.

Sunshine Stars currently occupy 17th position on the table with 24 points from 23 games.

The Akure club will host fellow relegation battlers Akwa United at their makeshift home ground in Ikenne this weekend.

The young tactician said they can no longer afford to keep dropping points.

“We’re going to work extremely hard and do everything humanly possible to get the win and three points against Akwa United,” he told reporters after the game Abia Warriors.

“Our current position is not what we wanted, and certainly not what we planned for.’”
