Rivers United are optimistic of securing a place in the CAF Champions League next season.
Finidi George’s side occupy second position on the table with 61 points.
The former champions will need to beat Nasarawa United in their final game of the season to seal second position.
Rivers United charged their fans to turn out in large numbers and support the team.
“We know Sunday’s result wasn’t what we hoped for, but let’s not overlook the significance of what we achieved in Ilorin – we’ve secured a continental ticket!,” Rivers United wrote on their Facebook page.
“This is a huge milestone for our club, and we’re proud of everyone who’s contributed to this success.
“While we may have missed out on the league title, our focus now shifts to sealing a CAF Champions League spot on Match Day 38. Let’s come together as a team and push for a win against Nasarawa United. We’re close, and with our collective effort, we can make it happen!.”
