Rivers United moved to second position in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, following a 1-0 win over Katsina United.

Former Akwa United hitman, Ubong Friday, scored the decisive goal in the 17th minute.

A heavy downpour at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, disrupted the game on Thursday.

The second half was played at the same venue on Friday morning.

Rivers United have now recorded 42 points from 26 games.

Finidi George’s men will face third-placed Shooting Stars at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, next Monday.

Katsina United maintained 14th position on the log with 33 points.

Majin Mohammed’s side will be away to Akwa United, also on Monday
