NPFL: Mohammed gives reasons for Niger Tornadoes’ disappointing campaign
Niger Tornadoes technical adviser, Majin Mohammed has revealed that the team’s failure to use their home turf for the majority of the season affected their performance.
The Ikon Allah Boys played some of their home matches at the Bafo Kontangora Stadium in Minna.
They also make use of the Lafia City Stadium in Lafia and the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
Mohammed stated that lack of home support and injury also affected his team.
“It was a good start for us in the season but the league is a marathon our first fault was leaving our home ground in Minna, I think that’s where we have most of our problems,” Mohammed told the club’s media.
“The lack of home support really affected us if you look at the other two teams that played away from home Sunshine Stars and Lobi Stars also had the same problem but we are lucky because of the quality that we have.
“Injuries also did its part but we that God we survived the season.”
Niger Tornadoes escaped relegation on the final day of the season.
Majin Mohammed’s side finished the 2024-25 NPFL season in 13th position with 51 points from 38 matches.
