Rivers United technical adviser, Finidi George believes that the arrival of former Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) top scorer, Chijioke Mbaoma and other strikers will boost the team’s chances of achieving their target this season.

Mbaoma recently linked up with the former NPFL champions.

Finidi expressed optimism with the signing of the player and is upbeat it will boost the team’s attack.

“These are experience players especially strikers, I’m happy with their contributions let’s keep this going and see how far we can go,” Finidi told the club’s media.

“We are working towards a target and I believe its achievable, fighting for the league is still possible if we can pick points away and win our home games.

“We know Remo Stars and Rangers are still coming to Port Harcourt by the time we start doing this we will close up the gap maybe there will be pressure on their path and they might slip we will keep encouraging the boys and see how far we can go.”
