NPFL: Dike blames players for Heartland’s relegation

The Imo State Football Association says the lack of commitment from the players is the reason behind Heartland’s relegation to the second tier league.

The state football association backed former Super Eagles forward Emmanuel Amuneke to reposition the club.

Heartland will play in the Nigeria National League, NNL, next season.

“Many things happened at the clubside, players leaving at the detriment of the club, you will start looking for replacement, so all these things affected Heartland as a team,” Imo State FA chairman, Ifeanyi Dike told Totorinews.

“I believe that Heartland Fc will be reorganized and many changes will bring significant growth to the club,”

DAILY POST recalls that Heartland finished in 17th position in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, last season.
