NPFL: Amapakabo upbeat Abia Warriors can pick continental ticket

Abia Warriors head coach Imama Amapakabo is optimistic that his side can secure a continental ticket at the end of the season.

The top two teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, will earn a berth in the CAF Champions League, while the third-placed team will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Abia Warriors moved from ninth to fifth position following Sunday’s hard-earned 1-0 win over Bendel Insurance in Umuahia.

Amapakabo is certain they can secure a top-three finish.

“At this point, we still have nine games to go, which is 27 points to play for,” Amapakabo said after the game.

“We’re fifth now on the table. We just need to ensure that we get some good results on the road and also ensure that we keep winning our home games.

“I think everything is possible. Yeah, it’s possible.”
