NPFL: Abia Warriors pushing for continental ticket – Megwo

Abia Warriors forward Sunday Megwo believes his team still has a chance of securing a continental ticket.

The Umuahia-based club currently sits in ninth position on the league table with 41 points.

The top three teams will qualify for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup at the end of the campaign.

The remaining Confederation Cup slot will be awarded to the winner of the President Federation Cup.

Megwo stated that a victory against Bendel Insurance in the matchday 29 fixture in Umuahia would boost their chances of claiming a continental ticket.

“We still have a clear chance of fighting for a continental spot,” Megwo told BSN Sports.

“If we secure maximum points this weekend, it will put us in a good position, but there are still nine more games to go after this weekend’s matches.

“I’m very confident that we will get the needed result against Insurance on Sunday.”
