Abia Warriors head coach, Imama Amakpakabo says his team is still a work in progress .

The Umuahia club recorded their first win of the new season against Kano Pillars on Sunday.

Amakpakabo said he is trying to change the philosophy, mentality and the orientation of his players.

He believed that the victory would boost the team’s morale ahead of subsequent games.

“Yes I came into a team that has a lot of new players, it’s always tough when you have to change the mentality, Philosophy and the orientation of the players which we have been doing gradually and we have been able to get our first victory,” Amakpakabo told Abia Warriors media.

“Though we have been creating chances to win games in the matches we have played but most importantly the victory over Kano Pillars will boost everybody’s spirit towards what we are trying to achieve.”
