Wikki Tourists technical adviser Abdullahi Maikaba says his team is unperturbed with the matchday 17 defeat to Barau FC.

The Bauchi Elephants suffered a 2-1 defeat to Barau FC in Dambatta on Sunday.

Maikaba reaffirmed that his team’s goal is to secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

The Bauchi club remain at the top of the Group C table with 20 points.

“I’m glad that we lost gallantly. Nobody can say we didn’t play well,my boys did their best, and I must commend them,” Maikaba told the club’s media.

“We are still topping the group. Our performance this season has been great and we want to continue this momentum until we achieve our ultimate goal, a slot in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Insha Allah.”

Wikki Tourists will square up with Zamfara United in their final match of the regular season.

Two teams will qualify from the group for the NNL Super Eight playoff tournament.
