NNL: Doma United won’t give up on promotion chase – Umar
Doma United chairman, Alhaji Suleiman Umar says that his team won’t give up on their pursuit of securing promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)
The Savannah Tigers failed to secure qualification to the NPFL after they lost 2-0 to Barau FC at the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs in Asaba on Thursday.
Umar commended the players for their performance in the tournament.
“We came here with a target of securing back a slot in the top flight division, we gave our all both on and off the field of play, but it seems it wasn’t good enough,” Umar reacted after the final group match at the Stephen Keshi Stadium.
“I praise my players, officials and our fans for their support to this club even when the results didn’t favour us, we will go back home and strategize on how to bounce back again.”
DAILY POST recalls that Doma United were relegated to the second tier league at the end of the 2023-24 NPFL season.
