NNL: Abubakar pleased with Lobi Stars’ build-up to new season

Lobi Stars’ technical adviser, Bala Abubakar, has expressed satisfaction with his team’s progress ahead of the 2025–26 Nigeria National League, NNL season.

The Pride of Makurdi have been impressive in their preparations for the new campaign.

They recently hammered non-league side AAZ FA 10-0 in a warm-up match.

Abubakar said the emphatic performance would boost the players’ confidence for the season.

“The friendly games are good; there is no small match. I’m happy the lads are responding positively, which will build their confidence to face the challenges ahead,” Abubakar stated ahead of the 2025–26 season.

Lobi Stars are seeking an immediate return to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL following their relegation last season.

The second-tier league is expected to commence in October.
