Napoli working to avoid late Osimhen transfer

Napoli director Giovanni Manna has revealed that the club is working to prevent a late transfer of Victor Osimhen to a new club in the summer.

Osimhen is currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, with his season-long loan set to expire at the end of the campaign.

The Nigeria international joined Galatasaray in a last-minute deal after a proposed move to Premier League side Chelsea collapsed last summer.

Speaking about Osimhen’s future, Manna stated that Napoli is working on a solution as soon as possible to avoid another late transfer saga.

“It’s true that Victor Osimhen has a release clause in his contract. We’re working to find a solution as soon as possible to avoid a late transfer, as happened last summer,” Manna told Sky, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Osimhen is expected to secure a move to a new club in the summer when his loan spell at Galatasaray ends.

Before his departure, he was frozen out of Napoli manager Antonio Conte’s squad. Napoli have since signed Romelu Lukaku as his replacement.
