Real Betis captain, Isco has issued an apology to Real Madrid fans for his celebration during his side’s La Liga 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Betis came from a goal behind to beat Madrid at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Brahim Diaz put Madrid ahead but Isco, a former Real Madrid player, gave Betis the winning goal.

Johnny Cardoso had headed home an equaliser for the hosts before half time.

Isco scored a 54th-minute penalty after Antonio Rudiger fouled Jesus Rodriguez before passionately celebrating in front of the home fans.

“I apologise to Real Madrid fans for my celebration,” Isco said after the match.

‘I am very grateful to Real Madrid, they will always be in my heart.”

The result leaves Real Betis sixth in the La Liga table.

Real Madrid, on the other hand, are in third position behind Barcelona and leaders Atletico Madrid.
