Inzaghi reaches out to Osimhen as Nigerian striker receives new huge offer

Al-Hilal manager, Simone Inzaghi, has personally spoken with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen to persuade him to make up his mind to play for the Saudi Arabian club, Il Mattino, via Napoli Calcio News reports.

Al-Hilal recently increased their personal terms to Osimhen to €4 million per year.

The report added that the Saudi Pro League side are hopeful that a call to share the club project from Inzaghi would be enough to secure Osimhen’s signature.

Should Osimhen move to Al-Hilal, the 26-year-old would become the highest-earning Nigerian football player in history, surpassing Odion Ighalo.

Recall that Ighalo became Nigeria’s highest-earning player in history after his move to Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua in February 2019.

The 36-year-old took home more than €12.1 million every season at Shanghai Shenhua.

Meanwhile, Osimhen is still on holiday after his loan deal with Galatasaray expired some weeks ago.

The former Lille striker is expected to decide the club he would play for next season in the coming days, as Al-Hilal is eager to pay his €75 million release clause placed in his contract by Napoli.
