A former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has named the very player Ruben Amorim is keen on signing this summer.

According to him, the Red Devils’ head coach is keen on signing Martin Zubimendi who is also a target for Arsenal and Liverpool.

Manchester United defeated Real Sociedad 4-1 in their UEFA Europa League last-16 second leg tie last Thursday. They also beat Leicester City 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday.

Amorim spoke highly of the player before their Europa League victory and following the Manchester United boss’ comments, Scholes commented on TNT Sports, “From that interview, the manager quite likes Zubimendi! If we sell three or four players we might be able to buy him.”

The 26-year-old Zubimendi, is reportedly expected to be a subject of a bidding war in the summer.

He rejected a move to Liverpool last summer and has reportedly drawn attention Arsenal and Manchester City in the past few months.
