Favour Ofili officially switches allegiance from Nigeria to Turkey

Nigerian sprinter Favour Ofili has officially switched her international allegiance to Turkey.

Ofili revealed the decision in a statement posted on her social media pages.

She wrote: “Wrapping up my 2025 season has been a whirlwind of new experiences and big decisions.

“As some of you have heard, I’m also starting a new chapter representing Turkey.”

Ofili’s decision follows years of alleged administrative failures and neglect by both the Nigerian Olympic Committee and the Athletics Federation of Nigeria.

It is believed the 22-year-old will be eligible to compete for Turkey from 2027.
