EPL: Van Nistelrooy plots Liverpool downfall as Slot aims for league double
The stage is set for Leicester City’s Premier League tie with Liverpool.
The match will take place on Sunday evening and the kick-off time is 4.30 pm, Nigerian time.
Leicester City head to the game following a 2-2 draw with Brighton in their last game, while Liverpool won 2-1 against West Ham.
The last time both teams met was in December last year in the Premier League.
The Reds defeated the Foxes 3-1 at Anfield, thanks to goals from Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones and Mohamed Salah.
However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot will be without the likes of Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton against Leicester today due to injury.
Slot’s side are currently on top of the Premier League table with 13 points ahead of second position Arsenal with less than six matches to conclude the season.
Leicester City, on the other hand, will hope to avoid another defeat when they host the visitors, having lost against Liverpool in their last game at Anfield.
Leicester manager Ruud Van Nistelrooy has already confirmed that Wout Faes and Jeremy Monga will be back from the minor issues that ruled them out last weekend.
Leicester are in 19th position on the Premier League table, only ahead of Southampton.
DAILY POST reports that Van Nistelrooy will hope to have a revenge against Liverpool at the King Power Stadium as Slot will also hope to complete a league double against the hosts and extend their lead on the Premier League table.
